Four face to face meetings and an online session to bring SEL strategies to your practice.
The 2019-2020 SEL cohort will offer four face-to-face meetings throughout the school year. The alternating months will involve virtual check-ins and follow-up in regards to the previous month’s topic using a private Facebook group page where we will share resources and livestream our in-person conversations for our virtual participants. The focus of this cohort will be to provide educators with a community to discuss topics related to social-emotional learning in our students and in ourselves. We will work to encourage healthy habits and coping strategies that will foster a healthy environment in and out of the classroom. Aside from focused conversations, the cohort will also be an avenue for teachers to form real-life and online connections and build a network of educators with a commitment to social-emotional growth for themselves and their students. The cohort is open to any educators who are interested in learning and growing with others personally and professionally. The work of our cohort will be grounded in the book Onward: Cultivating Emotional Resilience in Educators by Elena Aguilar.
