What is MYLC24 ?
MYLC24 stands for “Maplewood Youth Leadership Conference of 2024.” MYLC will be a conference where high school students from Maplewood-Richmond Heights and other school districts will be able to come together and experience powerful messages, games, and leadership development activities.
MYLC Purpose
The purpose of the Maplewood youth leadership conference is to educate, motivate and challenge bright young leaders of today; to be greater Leaders of Tomorrow.
The Idea
The idea originated last year when a student named Abraham Blue, who is a member of the strategic planing committee, was reading a book titled 'New Directions for Youth Development.' This sparked an idea in his mind. Which he then presented to Dr.Jamison, MRH Superintendent. The idea was the Maplewood Youth Leadership Conference.
Target Audience
The conference is designed for ages 15 - 18 years old. high schoolers that are involved in leadership programs, speech and debate, and students that wants to improve their self development in have fun. They will gain knowledge of leadership, how to network, and how to engage and collaborate in different activities.

Overview
Networking: You will be able to connect with fellow students form different school districts while enjoying breakfast. Learn about each other's programs and build your network. You will also learn about exciting opportunities for involvement over the summer with various programs aimed at young people. Explore internship's , volunteer, and educational opportunities that can help you grow and make a difference in your community.
Breakout Rooms of Guest Speakers: You will also explore four dynamic breakout sessions, each featuring industry experts who are passionate entrepreneurs ready to share invaluable insights with you. Form hair and beauty to youth activism, writing, leadership, and gaming, our speakers represent diverse fields of expertise. Spend 40 minutes with one of the speakers and gain there first hand knowledge on entrepreneurship and the pathways of success in your chosen field.
Panel Discussion: our panel discussion bring together students leaders form across the St.Louis region to delve into pressing issues affecting leadership in our society. Form censorship and misinformation to the state of our community and country. Join us for a thought-provoking conversation as we explore these hot topics and seek solutions together.
Wrap Up: the warp up will consist of last remarks from Abraham Blue and acknowledments of those that made all of this happen !
